Timeshares are growing rapidly and many international travelers are buying timeshare properties all over Mexico. But before you do this kind of purchase, you need to do a research of the company and don’t be swayed for the beautiful words the sales rep tell. As soon as you hear some deal too good to be true, you need to think twice. We have talked before about this in:

 Complaints

As many timeshare companies in Mexico, this is another one with many complaints about timeshares, being the next the most common:

  1. Owners are never able to use their timeshare ownership. When you call to plan a vacation, you always get the same answer: “We’re sold out and we have no space available”.
  2. Special assessment fees are too high and arrive every year, despite that there is nothing in the contract about these fees.
  3. Timeshare maintenance fees increase considerably during years.
  4. The contract with Raintree timenshare indicates that if the fees are unpaid for two years, the membership will be forfeited, but is not completely true; they will send you to a collection agency.
  5. Raintree timeshare promises to sell your previously owned timeshare to sell you a new timeshare with them.
  6. They deceive you to make you sign the timeshare contract and make false promises at the presentation.
  7. If you try to sell your timeshare on your own, they send a letter denying you the right to sell your timeshare.
  8. When you finally can make a reservation, they tell you that you need to do a timeshare upgrade your timeshare membership because you don’t have all the benefits.
  9. The customer service department at Raintree  is very bad.

10. If you try to cancel your timeshare directly with them, they don’t agree and tell you that you sign a contract with them for “x” years and then they send you a bill with an assessment fee.

Raintre  is one of the most fraudulent companies in the timeshare industry and cut string with them is very difficult. But you still have an option; you can cancel your timeshare purchase. Now we have read this complaints we can response the answer: Raintree is not a reliable company.

Raintree resorts are the worst of the worst! they totally scammed to me and all my family, we felt in their timeshare pitch and aproved instantly a credit card charge to aquire a timeshare membership, we totally regret it !

Okay..so, I'm originally from Mexico and I came on vacation with my parents because won a trip. I ended up on Club Regina because when we went to Islas Mujer we bought from this lady a snorkel package where if you went to have breakfast and into a tour to get to know the hotem from Club Regina we would get 600 mxn out of the 1200mxn we spent. They DID NOT tell us it'd be a presentation to the club. And we went to the breakfast. I am here rn while writing this message. The girl that talked to us at breakfast has tried everything to get us to join. Even mentioned the trial thing. She told us it'd be 90 mins but it has been almost 3 hours. We are currently sitting on a table with "the manager" probably because we have been very strong about us not buying anything. Currently he's dropped the cost of our "membership" to a very low price. And basically he's trying to convince us with every single thing. They keep bringing people to us and it is getting hella scary because they won't let us leave. And we are losing our last day of vacation. I'm glad I found this page before buying anything. We thought it was a good deal and probably would have bought it if I had not found this page. To all people traveling and coming across this Club. Do not buy it. Seriously!

I had the same experience back in 2007 as well. Lots of promises of things that did not happen. Was told that I could sell back up to 4 weeks a year for roughly $2500 a week. Later when I attempted this, I was told that you could only do that once you paid off your timeshare. Recently was contacted regarding my maintenance fees. Has anyone pursued a lawsuit against Raintree?
