Legal Name: Operadora Torrenza S.A. DE C.V.
Sales Locations: Mazatlan
Common Complaints:
• Salesperson promised that the towers will be constructed quickly. The construction did not progress for the last 2-3 years and has now stopped altogether. The hotel seems to be only a hole in the ground and the sales presentation room is closed as well.
• Recently clients have been receiving bills and letters for maintenance fees with late charges, despite being promised that they only have to pay a maintenance fee if they use the timeshare. They are threatening to send owners to collections or sue for damages. They are requesting payments to be made directly to the owners account which is in the name of Miguel Coronel Hernandez (supposedly the CEO of the company)

I am part of the group that purchased a timeshare from Torrenza in Mazatlan. Paid $22,000 USD. Nothing but hole in the ground. What can I do?

We purchased the property at Torrenza Towers in December 2009. We understand that the construction has ceased on the tower and would like to cancel our contract.

My father-in-law got conned by these people too. He paid for a five-month fractional ownership, the buildings were never built (two big holes in the ground that he later found out that Torrenza doesn't even own or have rights to build on). We are in Mazatlan right now (Nov 2011) and nothing is happening. He has been offered a downgrade to a 30-year timeshare of 2 weeks per year of a two-bedroom unit at Torrenza Boutique in Nuevo Mazatlan. Has anyone else received such an offer from the theives at Torrenza?

My wife and I purchased a time share at Torrenza a couple years ago. We still get maintanance due bills each year and since the towers aren't being built, we feel that we have been robbed of our money. I would like to get our money back and cancel our contract. Is this possible?
Cameron
Like many others, we bought one week at Torrenza in Mazatlan in 2009 and know now we were totally scammed. The contract is paid in full, no maintenance dues required if we inform them in advance. But we have no idea of the status of the promised building, can't use Trading Places as promised, are receiving bills for maintenance dues and threats of legal action, and they don't answer the phone or e-mail.
Jennifer
We were taken by Torrenza the timeshare its self is paid for but they keep sending us bills for the maintenance fee. I have not paid it but now they are saying they will sue us for it. Just want to know if they can do that? We don't expect to get any money back just want to cancel so they quit harrassing us about the maintenance fee.

I purchased a timeshare from Torrenza in Mazatlan in January 2009 and none of the promises made to me have been kept. I would like to end my affiliation with Torrenza and recover the money paid to them. Any advice?
Lawrence
Torrenza towers Mazatlan lied to us on a timeshare scam. Collect $20000 from us. Have not built the towers and are now sending us letters to pay a maintenance fee for a place that is not yet built, and we were told with paying upfront we would have no maintenance fee at all ever.
Michael
We bought at Torrenza Towers Mazatlan. These towers are said to be built by 2012 - we don't know whether they are actually being built, or not. I called them a while ago and was told that construction was going on as planned, however, their website is now down, etc. We don't know what to do. Any advise?
Luis

As many other are, so are we victims of the Torrenza/Sierra scam. Long store, just like the others. We purchased back in July 2009. We were also scammed by the company who was supposed to rent out our weeks and sell our other timeshare. We held out hope long after we should have. Sierra kept giving us the economy excuse.

Hi, I have a contract with Torrenza that I have read is a fraud and I would like to see the possibilities of getting of this contact . They lied to us all the way around about absolutely everything. we paid 13,000 for the membership, making many promises and assuring us that we would have access to additional weeks through trading places but we have never gotten the information and are now being told that Trading Places is refusing to provide these because Torrenza has not made repairs they agreed to do. Torrenza told us that our weeks would be rented and we would recieve a check for 2000 for the rental of those weeks within 60 days and that within 90 days they would be able to sale our other two timeshares.

I purchased a timeshare at Torrenza on December 17, 2009. I was quoted a cash payment amount in the amount of $2,500.00. When they made copies of the agreement they inserted a purchase price of $7,879.00 and added payments of $225.00. My husband was with me at the time of the purchase and I was adamant about the purchase amount and the fact that it was the payment in full. They started billing me for payments and when I said that I did not have any payments due they sent a copy of the altered contract with the payment schedule.

A sales representative from Torrenza sold me a timeshare but I´m worry about it because the last thing that I hear from Torrenza was that the construction of the resort was stopped and there is only a hole. I bought the membership because they told me that I would be able to rent out my unit, but how am I going to be able to rent my unit if it does not exist?
Anabel

I bought a $20,000 membership two years ago. They never constructed anything, but they still kept sending bills. We were worried about our credit, so we kept paying and now the membership is paid off…for what, we get no benefits and can’t use the timeshare. We heard a few months ago that they went bankrupt, but just about a week ago we got a bill for our maintenance fee. How can they still be collecting fees for a property that does not exist and for a bankrupt company. The whole situation is so corrupt and we don’t know what to do to protect our credit.

My Brother and I bought into Torrenza in 2007/2008. We have been told every year that the tower will be complete next year etc. The hole in the ground is almost unchanged since then. We get asked for maintainance fees every year (so far we haven't paid them) but we feel scammed. We spent a lot of money and it seems we get nothing in return. We also spent money on Sierra Rentals to rent our timeshare, but again nothing. I want to cancel our contract with torrenza and get some, if not all our money back.
Alejandro
Nunca he utilizado la membresía.

Hello, I am a Torrenza Mazatlan owner who, like many others, have been deceived by Torrenza's claims to have the property open within 10 months (as of last July). As the property is not available and other promises of Cruises, less expensive hotel stays, etc. via TradingPlaces simply have not materialized, I am interested in canceling my contract with Torrzena. I currently have a loan with Torrenza (approx $300 US per month) and am interested in ending the payments, as the benefits simply have not occurred as promised.
James
We have been in the process of trying to cancel a timeshare contract with Torrenza since October, 2009, because we feel that they have been deceitful and not following thru with (mostly verbal) promises. Currently preparing Profeco claim against Torrenza. We would like to cancel our contract with Torrenza, and also pursue getting any reimbursement of $ paid to Torrenza. Saw your website and would like to talk with you about cancelling our contract. We feel helpless in this matter and have been lied to and scammed by several companies to the tune of several thousands of dollars. We are skeptical of anyone's claims.

October 2008 I purchased a timeshare condo from Torrenzo Mazatlan and was promised many things that have not materialized. I have paid the contract in full. Do I have any recourse in this matter?

We paid $25,000 on a Bank of America credit card to Torrenza in Mazatlan, Mexico. We want cancel our affiliation with Torrenza and get our money back. We are unable to book a room nor can we use the Trading Places program to book any vacations anywhere else in the world. We have been unable to establish any communication from them regarding their intentions to build the promised resort. It appears we paid $25,000. for nothing.
Javier
bought a fractional at Torrenza in Mazatlan and they have not built the tower what can I do? I already payed 110,000 dlls
Kim
My wife and I were in Mazatlan last week and fell prey to Torrenza dishonest tactics. We purchased a two week package for $8500 + $1200 closing cost. They promised to sell a time share which we have at Pueblo Bonito and rent the weeks we have with Torrenza for $1400 per year through Phoenix Vacation Property Management in the US. Phoenix wanted another $799 to list our property with no guarantee. I did not sign up with Phoenix. I called and emailed Torrenza as soon as I got back to the USA and let them know I wanted to work out a settlement, but they have not returned my calls.
