I was scammed by Grand Bay Resort Mazatlan. Illegally charge the time share purchase to a Bank of America Credit Card, which they opened in our names.

We purchased a 'fractional' at what is now called Grand Bay Resorts. We cannot contact anyone from that group. All numbers and emails no longer work. We have read many of the on line comments and know that we were naïve and gullible. However, we would like to know if there is some recourse.

On March 15, 2010 I enrolled on a membership sold by The Grand Bay Resort in Mazatlan. I paid $3000 for membership for Holiday Systems International. To this day I have not received any paper work about such membership. I contacted the resort an the salesperson Manuel Servin no longer works there. I have asked for a refund and have gone back and forth and Im getting tired.

You can get your money back it just takes time and alot of work. We contacted the credit card company and were told to wait a year to make sure we did'nt get any rental money or any fullfillment of the contract. After the year we sent Bank of America copies of anything I could get my hands on and fought with lots of phone calls. Talked to 10 people after demanding to speak to some one with authority it finally worked . We got back all our money plus any fees, interest everything. Balance was deleted . Good luck anyone whos trying don't give up.

I too was defrauded by Grand Bay Resorts in June 2010. They took over $17K, and wanted me to pay $14K more after them liquidating my timeshare, but they never liquidated my timeshare, and now I'm stuck with the bill. I didn't send anymore money, because thing's were sounding fishy. The sales agent that sold to me stayed in touch with me for a while, but then she quit emailing me, because they were all fired supposedly. Phillip was an American man that was the Sales Manager at that time. They told me I could pay the remainder $14K+ after I got the money from the sale of my timeshare, but since I was given the run-around, I'm out $17K+ on my credit card. The credit card company wouldn't do a thing, because I signed a contract. I turned it over to Profeco, after arguing with Bank of America forever, and they finally emailed me about a month ago (March 2011). I filed the report with them in October 2010. It took them that long. Imagine all the scam going on. Anyway, I haven't heard anything back from them after 2 emails. The Trevor Forester that I read sold to a couple was working down at Boutique Resort La Jolla down from Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay. He did the very same thing to me down at that resort. They promised me all this rent money, and renting my timeshare, and never got a dime. They said that the rental company (Premier Rentals) disappeared. Imagine that!!! I will never go back to Mazatlan. That was my first time, and last time. In fact, I don't even want to go to that side of Mexico anymore, I'm so disappointed with all of this.

My mom owns a timeshare outright and wants to get out of the yearly maintenance costs. Sale was lots of double talk and promises that weren't fulfilled.

I signed a contract with Grand bay in Mazatlan. The contract states that they will guarantee $1000 payment for the weeks which we do not use. So far I like the contract, but would like some advice as to whether it specifies this payment adequately. I know mexican law allows us to cancel the contract within 5 days, and also I can contest it successfully with my credit card company. I think I would like to stay with the agreement, but would like to be more sure as to the guarantee of payment.

We were scammed by Grand bay resort for 11000 dollars and were promised rental income that never came. We tried to contact them numerous times and were hung up on continually and transfered to various people who eventually hung up on us 2. We signed the contract with them and they fudged the dates and told us that was so they could put us in the rental pool right away but we found out after it was so we wouldnt have the 5 day cancelation period. But the dates they put on the contract were before we even were in Mexico and we have our stamped passports to prove that.

Purchased timeshare with Marinal del Sol Grand in Mazatlan. They were to sell timeshare property I owned in 120days or purchase for guaranteed amount that would cover balance owing on the contract. In Jan. contacted by company Market Value Properties indicating they had buyer for my property. I was told once I signed resale contract funds I would be contacted by the escrow company where funds had been deposited to purchase the property. Talked with escrow agent who confirmed buyer had deposited money but that I would have to send them a check to cover transfer costs and fees that would be reimbursed later.

This sounds like my same situation. I am in the thick of it at present and would like to compare notes. Please confirm that you have received this email. Did you send the 10% transfer tax? Are they trying to get you for a commission?
