I didn´t have the intention of canceling my membership but every time that I call the resort because I  have a question or I need to talk with someone there, nobody has the time to talk with me and they always tell me that they will call me back but they never do it, I  think that they don{´t even have the intention to do it, the true is that , I´m tired of this situation and  I´m thinking in cancelling my membership, I would like that your assistance , there are  very hard to find and I don’t have the time and the patient to do it. They are going to lose many clients if they don´t do something to improve their customer service.

Ben

we purchased a membership , it is supposted that we were going to receive money for the rent of our weeks, and at the end of 6 years we were going to recover what we invested and the rest of the money for the next years it would be a profit for us, until this moment we didn´t used the membership, we didn’t received profits and  on the contrary  we have had to invest more money for the maintenance fee. what can we do , if we want to stop making payments, without been taken to collections?

I purchased a membership at Villa del Palmar 3 months ago.  They opened us a new credit card to finance the membership and we paid $6,540.12. We sent them an email to cancel but it was too late, we were out of our rescission period and now we are having problems to cancel the membership.

We purchased a membership on June 28, 2009. Villa del Palmar agreed to purchase our 3 weeks with Real Club for $27,684. The purchase was to be completed within 6 months. The 6 months has passed and no payment has been received. We have tried to contact the company and have had no success. If we would have known that they would never sell our Real Club timeshare, we never would have entered into the contract. They never return my calls and I pretty sure that they have no intention of selling my other timeshare.

I purchased a timeshare in Puerta Vallante called UVC (Universal Vacation Club) under the understanding that they would rent my units out to vacationers in Mexico and that my timeshare would be paid for in year. My initial downpayment was $10K plus a $669 one-time tax fee/bkr's fee. I have called the brokerage company several time and I have never used the timeshare. I know I never will.

When I purchased my membership at villa del palmar, I was told that they would take my california timeshare as a part of my payment because they would sell it . I made a payment for almost $9,000 and they stated that my payments would be for $133 each month,  a few months later, when I got back home, a man called me and told me that they couldn´t sell my membership but their free services had expired and now I had to pay if I want to list my california timeshare with their company. I told him  what  my seller told me at the time of the presentation and he told me that  there is no way that they work in that manner and he made me feel as if I had been completely lied to about the resale.

Cesar

We purchased a membership scam too,  villa del palmar took our el cid membership as part of the payment and we  paid $9,875.12 as a down payment ,  we purchased on march,2007 and we have been doing monthly payments for $525. We are having financial problems and we can´t afford the membership, we  have never used it and we never received a payment for a rent,  we want to know   if you have experience cancelling contracts  from villa del palmar and what is your success rate  with this resort, We would like recover some money but if you can it will be ok if you can only cancel our contract.

My wife and I were also embarrasingly dupped into buying a timeshare at Vila Del Palmar Flamingos in August, 2010.  The salesperson, Joe Merante (and others), made numerous promises about renting and/or selling my Royal Resorts timeshare in Cancun for profit through his contact, Steve Gerard, at Enterprise Travel International (ETI).  Nobody ever told us, however,  that we had to pay an upfront fee of $680 for ETI to list our property.  From reading about other experiences, this also sounds like scam.  Joe M. also said that ETI could rent our optional summer week at a price that would easily cover our yearly maintenance fees, but upon returning to the U.S. and reading the contract more carefully, it says flat out that we are NOT permitted to rent out the optional week to any third party.  NO WONDER JOE ALSO TOLD US NOT TO TELL THE DEVELOPER THAT HE PUT US IN CONTACT WITH ETI!!!  I Should have known at this point it was all a scam.  I asked ETI about this, and Steve Gerard just blew it off, saying that The Villa Group will allow him to rent it because he feeds them so much business.  I suspect this is another lie, and he intends to simply take our money and never rent the optional summer week.  This is truly saddening because my wife and I have really enjoyed our Royal Resorts Timeshare, and were NEVER lied to about anything there.  Therefore, we trusted the Villa Group, and were totally defrauded.

RSK

When we bought the membership the sales person told us that he could sell our current timeshare and  we didn´t believed because we thought that he  could only sell memberships from villa del palmar but then he told us that he could get some tourist to rent our  weeks from villa el palmar and at that moment we thought that  he could, because the weeks are from the same resort where he works,  we paid an upfront fee to him and since that moment we never heard nothing from him.

Lucia

Nash

I want to recover my money that villa del palmar stole from me , telling me several lies, the seller told me that  I don t have to pay maintenances fees if we  don´t use the membership  and months later we received an email form the resort telling us that we have to make a payment, then they promised me that they would rent my weeks for  a good amount of money , that I could recover my investment in a short period of time, my husband told me that the promises sound  unreal and we shouldn´t buy but I convinced him and we purchased , I feel  so foolish. I should have listened my husband´s advice.

Mariana

Debra

My husband and I were invited to a timeshare presentation at villa del palmar , what a horrible presentation, after 5 hours and a membership the let us go to our hotel, we sent and email  to our salesman because we want to cancel our membership but they told us that it is not possible , is that true?

Ann C

Hi, I have a membership at villa del palmar and I`m up date with my monthly payments, what can I do to cancel my contract without affect my credit score. The reason why I would like to cancel the membership is because the seller told me that they would rent our weeks but we have 3 years with the membership and they have not rented any of my weeks

Mark Prine

I thought I was buying something I was not. I was told I would be doing it for my family. That we could enjoy for years and rent our other weeks to help pay the balance. sent to a retal co. that did nothing but take my money. I suggest to anyone to stay away from timeshares and Mexico period. i want to get out of the contract and need someones advice in how.

Cecilia

Norma

Hi, I´m reading all this sad experiences and I feel identified, , my husband and I we were scammed too by  a salesperson of villa del palmar, he told us that he would sell our old timeshare and we could use that money to pay  the membership, we made a payment of $2,300  plus interests . we  don´t want  to make any other payment ,what can we do?

Martha

Richard

I bought a membership at Villa del palmar in May 2008, I made a down payment of $7,800 I have financial issues and I can´t pay for it anymore. I want to know if you can help me to get rid of this timeshare, thanks.

Ceciilia

We were pulled out of the airport by The Villa Group reps and givena ride to our hotel, offerred free breakfast at their resort and given 5 drinks a piece.  We too bought a timsehare but thank goodness Bof A didn't finance the loan.  However, the Villa del Palmar Flamingo in Nuevo Vallara Mexico kept our $1000 deposit and won't give it back.  Warn all of your friends.

Margaret

I purchased a membership at villa del palmar for  $26,200  and the seller told me that he could guaranteed the rental of my weeks for 1,400 through  a rental agency, the rental agency contacted me and I signed the contract but once I signed the contract they never rented anything and they did not even answer my phone calls.

Ana

My husband and I went to Vallarta  and got scam into buying a timeshare at the Villa del palmar for 26,500. They told us that if we don't use the weeks that we have, we can rent it out for 1,100 each . They said that timeshare was a good investment, because the value will go up. Now we are looking the reimburse of our money.

Darryl

When we purchased our membership at villa del palmar the salesman  told us that almost all their clients rent their  weeks trough  a rental company in order to do that, they have to pay a expensive fee, so the salesman told us that he could help us to get some clients and we only have to pay a little amount as commission, I thought that was a nice  from his part so I gave him extra money. They gave us their contact information but for our surprise all was false. We were very upset because we couldn´t  contact him and we decided pay to a rental company  to rent our weeks. 8 months later we have nothing, the  resort was a scam, the salesman was a scam and the rental company too,  we are so disappointed.

Ana

I have 3 diferent Timeshares but I only have problems with my villa del palmar Timeshare, I found some irregularities in the contract in addition I found several complaints on internet that make me feel insecure about my timeshare contract, my husband and I have been thinking about it and we would like to use your services to cancel our membership, please contact us.

Frank

Somebody knows about upgrading a Timeshare?  I bought a timeshare at villa del Palmar , and I wasn´t able to rent my weeks ,so the manager advised me to  upgrade my timeshare to improve it and I did. The salesman explained me but now I´m not sure about it,  please help me with this.

Geovana

My husband told me that he saw several complaints on internet about villa del palmar. We just bought a membership there 2 weeks ago and we haven’t had  a problem yet but we don’t feel good with our membership anymore. I would like to talk with you and get some advice to take the best decision.

Jeanette

I was defrauded by villa del palmar, the seller told me that they could sell my mayan palace Timeshare and that my villa del palmar timeshare could be rented  for a profit, he only told me good things about   villa del palmar  timeshare and now I can´t see clear, I would like to know if some day I will be able to rent my weeks   or if I should  cancel my royal elite contract.

My experience with the Villa Del Palmar group in Puerto Vallarta had a different twist. We were approached while in the Malecon area and the sales rep tried to convince us to accept his timeshare tour the next morning. We were steadfast in not wanting the tour nor any perks they offered. We did however as a side deal accept an ATV tour for the next day. We were told we had to leave a deposit with this sales rep to secure this "great deal" However when we showed up the next morning, the sales rep was nowhere to be found and the people there that morning claimed not to know this gentleman.

We immediately found an email address for the Del Palmar group and demanded a refund of the deposit or we would divulge this scam upon our return to Canada. In the email we indicated which hotel we were in and that they can contact us there. We really did not expect a resolution and were prepared to chalk it up as a learning lesson.

However the General Manager of the Villa Del Palmar group and a rather large sidekick did track us down at our motel. They asked for us to accompany them out the the Villa Del Palmar at the end of our hotel driveway. In order to get our deposit back we had to sign papers that we would not share this bad experience with others. Just wanting our money bac kwe agreed, however we felt it important enough to add to this forum.

Linda

I´m another victim of timeshare scam, I bought a membership at villa del palmar for $5700 US. The seller told me that it was a good investment an as others I believe him and I lost my money. I traveled with some friends and I took the decision by myself but I´m married and now my husband is angry. I want to know if there is a possibility to cancel the timeshare and recover my money.

Brandy

Good Afternoon, My name is Brandy Xxxxxx. My Mother and I purchased a Universal Vacation Club Membership from the Villa del Palmar Flamingos Beach Resort & Spa in Nuevo Vallarta on May, 2010. I’m writing your company to express my disappointment in this purchase. My mother and I returned home to find that our presentation at the Flamingos Beach Resort & Spa was misleading and untrue. We purchased a Right to Use Studio – Float for $14,995 and made a down payment of $6,600. Upon our arrival home, we were contacted by both UVC and Enterprise Travel International informing us of additional fees that we were not informed of during our presentation or meeting with the Loan Officer while signing our contract. UVC explained that we have two maintenance fee payments to make between now and November for a total of $1,236.00. Enterprise Travel International explained that we have to pay them a one-time registration fee in order for them to rent our weeks. First off, we don’t understand why we would have to pay the 2010 maintenance fee when our Membership begins at the end of the year. Secondly, the Representative (Jimmy Munoz) at the Flamingos and Steve Gerard of ETI promised us that they would rent out our weeks for this year in order to give us a refund of $6,000. We were never told we would have to pay the registration fee in order to do this. We feel that the fees and charges for our Membership were not explained to us thoroughly and that we were pressured into signing our contract.

Keith

I purchased a timeshare but we were scammed by the seller, he told us that we could get  a profit  renting  our weeks. That was a lie, since we bought our membership 3 months ago the seller doesn´t call us nor answer our emails. We know that our timeshare has not been  sold yet and we have to pay the maintenance fees so we don’t get sent to collections, we are desperate and we don´t know what to do could you help us to get rid of our villa del Palmar timeshare?

We have recently been taken advantage of from the people at Villa Del Palmar Flamingo. They had promised us many things, but as they say, too good to be true. They told us they were going to buy two of our timeshares so that we can afford to pay for theirs. We reluctantly fell for this. Unfortunately, we are already passed the 5 day period (9 Days). If I would have known this, I would have cancelled immediately.

George

My wife and I were approached by a seller from villa del palmar to take a one hour presentation. We were told that we would receive free gifts for attending this presentation. The one hour presentation took five hours. We were lied  in order to obtain $1,600 from us. We attempted to cancel our contract at the resort within 5 days cancellation period but our request to cancel was not accepted , we are trying  to cancel our contract with villa del palmar.

Karen

We too were pressured into buying a time share through the Villa Group, enticed by the "fact" that what we couldn't use, we could rent for a profit.  In addition, they said they would sell one of our old timeshares, all through Enterprise Travel International.  In trying to research Enterprise I find that they are NOT listed with the Better Business Bureau AND I could not find their "address" when I went on Google Earth.  BIG RED FLAG.  Our down payment for the time share at Villa del Palmar Flamingos (over 10K) plus an upfront cost of $680 was charged to our credit card.  Our credit card company has always been very supportive when we have contested a charge but I'm wondering what legal ramifications there will be if we try to contest these charges.  I hope we can get some good advise in this matter.  We broke a golden rule:  if it sounds too good to be true, it is!  We are generally trusting people, believing that no one could be so evil as to purposefully scam someone but I now know how naive we have been.

Martha

April

I have had problems with villa del palmar, they offered me to sell my membership I owned at blue bay and they didn´t do it, I been sending several emails but I never got a response, until I send them a paper signed by the seller with all the promises offered to me, now they are offering me “bonus weeks”  but  they never mentioned nothing about my blue bay timeshare,  Should I take the bonus weeks ?

Sherrie

My husband and I got talked into buying a timeshare at Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallarta, They said they could sell the timeshare we had in Wyndham, FL within 3 months for enough to pay off what was owing on it and the one in Mexico. Needless to say that never happened.

Kristy

My husband and I bought a membership at villa del Palmar, I always travel with him but he just passed away, I don´t want the timeshare anymore because I don’t have a partner to travel. Also my husband and I were thinking about canceling the  membership because  we told the salesperson that we don´t travel that often because of our age, but the salesperson told us that we could rent our weeks ,that if we couldn´t travel  we can rent the weeks and  get money. We bought it 7 years ago and we used it only 1 time, the rest of the weeks have been wasted because we didn´t use them and nobody rent a single week. I am not going to continue paying the maintenances is a waste of money, I rather invest for the future of my  sons.

Elaine

3 years ago I bought a membership at villa del palmar. Because of my work I can´t travel every year, but since I bought this membership I have never used , every time I tried to use it there is not ability. I believe this is not a good deal for me, I bought a membership and I have been paying my maintenance fees, why I can´t use it?

Ely

I want to get rid of my timeshare, I found several irregularities in my contract that I think can help to cancel it, please contact me.

Alicia

I´m scared because I purchased a membership at Villa del Palmar and  I found several negative comments on the internet. I want to know if I can receive your help to cancel my membership, I bought it 1 month ago.

Cristine

My mom was scammed by Villa del Palmar, she is a widow and elderly woman.  The salesman said to her that the timeshare was a good inheritance for us, she trusted in him and at this time we don´t know what to do to get out of this timeshare scam.

Monica

Last vacations my husband and I purchased a timeshare at villa del palmar, we had a bad experience, but we didn´t tell our family because we didn´t want them to worry w, 3 weeks ago my mom went to Mexico and before she left I advised her not to buy a timeshare. Yesterday my mom visited us and asks for help because she and her friend bought a timeshare together and they think is a scam.  Now we have to get rid of our and mom´s timeshares.

Jack

I purchased a timeshare in Vallarta back in Jun 09 but tried to cancel the next day, they refused to cancel my contract and said I bought a special type of contract. I know that it´s another of their lies. I will fight until I get rid of this timeshare.

Sophie

We were at a timeshare presentation on Jun 16, 2010. We were told that they would sell the timeshares we previously owned in 90 days. We were told the credit card they had us apply for would not be charged until our timeshares were sold. Upon our returning to our resort, I researched villa del Palmar and found numerous stories of fraud. What a bad surprise, now we are trying to cancel our timeshare.

Nicholas

I was just scammed by Villa Del Palmar (The Villa Group) into buying a new time share. They promised to sale my old timeshare, however this was a lie. I have not heard anything from them and they are ignoring my phone calls and emails. This company is nothing they claim to be. They claim to be based in California and to follow the laws of USA but I just found out this is not true. This is just the typical time share you purchase for one week for X amount of years.

Jamila

I purchased at Villa del Palmar. I was told that i would not have to pay interest for 13 months. Now i am told that only applies if i pay half of the remaining balance in 60 days. I also am being charged for each monthly payment i make 4.95 per month. Noone told me that even though it is in the contract. I also was not told about the 5 days of cancelations period that i had rights to. Finally the big part of the sale to me was the discounts on airfare, cruises and luxury hotels rooms at other locations. I have only been able to see the airfare but i dont see any savings there. I can go one but this is some of what i see.

Darcy

BEWARE!

This company is a serious scam.  I tried to cancel within 5 days at the resort. I even have a signed letter from the sales manager accepting my cancellation request and agreeing the reimbursement of my deposit. I have sent letters and emails and they don´t respond back. The last email I received from them they were telling me that I need a reason to cancel. This is not what PROFECO told me. I am handling this matter through PROFECO but it seems it will take a long time to settle. Do not buy at this company, the verbal promises are opposite to what the contract states.

Linde

Hello, I am not sure if I have a case or not and I am LONG past any sort of cancellation period. In 2009, a friend and I purchased a timeshare with VDP-Nuevo Vallarta. One week, every odd year, with unlimited Interval Interntional travel. In seeing other complaints, I see I was nieve about the whole thing, yes alcohol was brought out once we agreed to sign (not after we signed everything), "mobbed" at the airport with false intentions as to transportation to the hotel and free excursions during our stay. A deposit was taken to secure our place on the bus from VDP Flamingos in Puerto Vallarta to the Nuevo Vallarta resort. It was definately a high pressure sale. My friend and I have since fallen on hard times, we have not used any of our benefits, and are about 6 months back on our payments - a portion of April is paid. I continue to make payments and am current on my "half of the deal" between my friend and I (that I have since lost contact with - but that is not how VDP or Resortcom sees it. Now I am constantly hounded by Resortcom International. Over the course of the winter, I asked Resortcom to send me a copy of the contract as I had never received one after we first signed up- my friend had - eventhough we were co-owners. It took them MULTIPLE requests to finally email me a copy of the contract. Which they did. But it took forever. The collections department has threaten sending us to a collections agency and refuse to tell me what bank holds out loan or refer me to someone else. I just want out - I haven't even thought of trying to get money back just out of the contract as my friend has not paid in quite some time and it's going to hurt MY credit.

Vrushali

I am trying to excercise my right to cancel w/i my 5 days, which I did via-email. They confirmed my email and asked us to mail the copies of the contract to them but each time I went to the Post office they explained to me that the zip code dosen't match the city. I explained this to the Manager and he said we are wrong, now I'm getting attitude and he's telling me I need a reason to get out of the contract.

Gia and Marc

We bought one timeshare unit for one week for the amount of $28,500.00 US dollars on February 2009 at Villa Del Palmar Flamingos, Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico.  This unit has been sold to us by Constructora Los Arcos del Cabo, S.A. de C.V., P.O. Box 881069, San Diego, CA 92168-1069.

We were vacationing in Puerto Vallarta in early 2009 and were harassed by many people to go to a timeshare presentation.   We finally gave in and went to a timeshare presentation for the first time of our life, being told that by assisting to a 90-minute presentation we would have a VIP card which would give us free access to the resort and pools and advantages and did not need to buy anything.

The presentation was given by a sales lady and she started by saying that the timeshare was a very good investment.  Now we know that this cannot be true when the loan is at a 12% interest.
The saleslady said that if we are not using our timeshare, they will rent for us our week.  She also said that if after one year, we want to sell our timeshare, they will help us.  She also said that the timeshare we would buy today would increase in value since 2 new Villas would open in 2010, i.e. in Loreto and Cancun.  The saleslady was very friendly and during the presentation she offered us all you can drink free beers.  The presentation went on and on, she wrote all kinds of numbers on a sheet that she did not give us, everything was done verbally and having been in such a presentation for the first time and our mother tongue being French, we did not quite understood everything she said about how a timeshare operates.   And everything happened so fast.   We had been there now for more than 3 hours and by then, felt exhausted.  She then went inside to see her manager and came out and said “I have a resale and I have a really good deal”.  We told her we would like to think about this offer for 24 hours and then she said if you sign today, we will give you a free 6-day stay here all inclusive.  We were so tired and had been there now for more than 4 hours and then accepted the proposal.

We were then brought in a room for the signature of the heavy documentation.  We asked if these documents were available in French and were said no.  We were rushed to sign and felt it was urgent and did not have the chance to read.  Once at home we saw that there was a lot of documents we had signed that contained legal details that we did not quite understand since our mother tongue is French.  We were exhausted of that presentation and in fact were somehow dizzy as everything happened so fast.   Also, since they do not have French documentation, we feel they should not make presentations to French speaking people since we do not have the same understanding of all the legal aspects as if it would be in our mother tongue.

A while after the transaction, we wanted to have info on our account and tried to reach someone at Villa del Palmar and left couple of messages but no one in Sales ever returned our call.  We had to go on their Web site to find out info about our account and needed to ask their support line to get access.  Also, when we read the Purchase Agreement, we saw that there was a 5-day cancellation clause that we could have taken advantage of, but nobody told us…..if we would have known this, we would have cancelled this transaction.  We feel the cancellation clause was hidden from us.  We did not like the fact that we were given beers, this is certainly not a professional way to conduct serious business and with alcohol we cannot make clear decisions.  Also the purchase agreement is written in so small characters that even a person with a 20/20 vision could not read.  Once at home, we had to use a magnifier to read it and saw that at the bottom of the agreement it says not to sign this agreement before having read it completely.  Nobody told us that, while we were signing the documents in the room at Villa Del Palmar.  Being so small characters indicates that they do not want us to read the important things or that there could be written info that do not match what we were told .  We were told that they would help rent or even resale our unit, but by reading the documentation, we now know this is not true.  The saleslady even used a “resale” to say what we would buy would be a great deal since it is a resale.  This is not true since by reading the documents, they do not get involved with resale.

When we came back from our vacation we had remorse and felt we were victims of a scam and started to research info on Mexican timeshares and discovered, that like us many people had an experience like ours and were told lies.  Villa del Palmar is on a blacklist of timeshares.  We went to their presentation with honesty and good faith, but we feel we were lied to.  By offering us a free stay (which is not free at all because we had to buy a timeshare) they tried to impress us and they worn us out after more than a 4 hour presentation and having been offered free beers.

For the above reasons, we feel we have been taken advantage of and are victims of a scam and we want to cancel this transaction.

We purchased a timeshare with Villa del Palmar in Puerto Vallata Mexico last May and since we purchased we have faithfully made our payments but everything the salesman told us is an untruth and we should of known better but he did say we couldn't tell management what he was promising us in whispers that we could make the chunk of the money back withing the first year by renting and he hooked us up with someone right then and there who took money up front to rent out timeshare. I must say that we feel stupid and that it is our fault. We do own timeshares in the states and have no problem with them I also love Mexico so we thought it would work out the same with that timeshare. Yes we did drink and our senses were not sharp but the worst part is that we believed our salesman it sounded to good to be true and it was. I'm not sure we fall under your specifications of a fraud but I feel like we've been duped.

I am looking to recover my lost downpayment money and get a cancelled contact with the Universal Vacation Club (which parntnered with the Mexican resort Villa del Palmar). I already did a lot of work with The Owners Advocate , a timeshare cancellation company, that has gone out of business.

My husband and I went to a presentation at the Villa del Palmar Caribe on Sunday the 23rd May. We were told we were getting a week every year in a studio; we were promised an email when we got back home from Roscio the legal person. I don't have the contract on me as I am at work but the salespeople were Aaron and June. Anyway I started having 2nd thoughts after 2 days and no one ever mentioned a cooling off period. I have already given them a $1000 deposit but so far that is it. My contract states I only have 1 week every 2 years and I am reading such bad things now that I want out. No one said that we had a 5 day cooling off period and I feel we should have been told that but they probably knew that we would change our minds once we had a chance to thoroughly look thru the contract. Is there any way we can get out of this and get our $1000 back (or some of it?) I charged the $1000 downpayment to my Canadian credit card and my husband still wants to send these people $2000 more ASAP. This is making me physically sick and I am losing sleep.

Thanks for any feedback

I was lead into the timeshare presentation while vacationing in Mexico in January 2009.  I was treated lousy and given a bad lunch and was lied to as my work with the owners advocate spells out . The owners advocate has gone out of business and I would  still like a cancelled contact with this Villa del Palmar Flamingos/Universal vacation club. deal  I will be willing to give (donate) 50-100% of recovered downpayment money ($7,475) to your company contingent on giving me a cancelled contract.

Please contact me at your earliest convienience

I purchased 4 weeks (point value of 11,800) membership with the Villa Group while visiting the Villa del Palmar Flamingo near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I was very adamant with the salesperson (Gareth Jones) and his manager that I was only interested in their membership if I could sell my current time share in Hawaii. They promised me it could be sold through a company called Continental Connections. They then called Continental and I spoke with a representative named Karen Bryce who assured me that she could quickly sell my timeshares for a premium price. Please note that I signed all the standard documentation that was requested of me. Upon returning home I have been in contact with Ms. Bryce who reiterated her ability to quickly sell the timeshares. Looking on line for more information on Continental Connections, I became concerned of the company's legitimacy. I came across your website and read testimonials by people in similar situations.

Villa del Arco/Villa del Palmar Group/Universal Vacations Club timeshare representives misrepresent what they are truly selling and their claim this is an investment is fraud.  I purchased a one bedroom suite at Villa del Arco (so I thought as that was the resort I was presented).  They misrepresented the overall package we thought we purchased for twenty thousand dollars Canadian .... and there is very limited space available for timeshare members at Villa del Arco.  They lie and cheat you out of your money.  I spoke to a lawyer in Mexico today and discovered that the contract I signed is not easy to get out of but they could cancel my contract for $1200.  I am in a position to proceed with cancellation and will expose this company for their scam.    The law firm also stated they receive calls on a daily basis with consumers who were scammed by Villa del Arco/Villa del Palmar.  They stated that there is a clause in the contract that covers their butt regarding serving alcohol/signing a contract under the influence that protects them.  There is nothing anyone can do   I marvel at how a ninety minute presentation can turn into a consumers worst nightmare and to think these scammers can get away with it.  How sad is that.

I am a a 65 yr old woman who went to los cabos on vacation.  I went to the sales presentation and told them I was not interested.  I was taken to their offices and given 5 drinks (i don't drink much) and pressured to buy.  After 5 hours I was drunk and finally signed the papers. I even said I was drunk. After i sobered up, i went to shane grault and samatha buckley and told them I wanted my money back.  they said I couldn't but i found afterwards there is a five day clause where I could get my money back.  i called the american embassy for help (none).  I have been scammed and don't know what to do.

We purchased a week timeshare at Villa Del Palmars Flamingo in October 2009.  As many of your letters say, we were guarenteed that our existing timeshare in Mazatlan (one month) would be sold by Continental Connection within 180 days.  Gareth, of London. UK proposed this as an investment!!!  How dumb we were and what a scam.  On returning home after another three weeks in Mexico we had about 5 call from Continental Connection awaiting us.  When we contacted them they requested $795.00  to list our timeshare in Mazatlan.  Since that date (1 November 2009) the ONLY contact we have had are 'phone calls that we have placed.  WITH NO RESULTS. We were not informed by Gareth that there would be a fee for selling our timeshare.  Should have know tat you get nothing for nothing.

Do not trust either the sales people at Villa Del Palmer OR Continental Connection.

I wish that we had had access to this site before purchasing this timeshare because we are now stuck with $369.00 each month for 7 years and a maintenence fee of 801.00 yearly.

So I guess all we can say is DON'T GO TO PRESENTATIONS however much money they offer you.  They will pressure you and pressure you until you sign onthe dotted line.

I need some help. I recently traveled to Mexico from the USA. I purchased a timeshare from the Villa Group. Was given a lot bad information. I had buyers remorse. Canceled it in writing the next day. Got kicked off the property, and now I am back in the states and feel helpless. I called them several times, and they are checking with the developer to see if I can cancel. I also email my cancellation, certificated mail. In the contract there is a 5 days cancellation without penalty. I used my credit card for a $5000.00 down payment. I do not know how these disputes are selleted. But I did everything right to cancel. Thank you in advance for your help and direction.

Bought a timeshare in September of 2009 and at this point have not been able to get any info from them, or a membership card or packet or nothing. No one will call me back and now I am seeing all this stuff about a scam. I do not want to continue paying for this if it's a scam. I work to hard for my money to throw it away. Can you help me cancel this timeshare contract.

Greg

I have a timeshare at Villa Del Palmar nd my husband and I were taken out to the site (we were staying in Puerto Vallarta and they bussed us to Nuevo Vallarta. They would not take "no" for an answer. I already had a timeshare with them in Cabo San Lucas, which I had nearly paid off. After, giving us drinks and wearing us down, I signed the agreement. I was told that I would get discounted airfare, but when I later tried to get it, I was told that it was no longer offered.

I purchased a share at the Villa Del Palmar in 2007. We have never used the share and have paid nearly $1,000usd to restock our share as well as annual maintenance fees. We initially paid over $7,000usd for our share and were told that we could always contact the association and have the share resold for a nominal fee. I just checked with Resortcom and learned that the Villa Group never had a program to resell and that they do not intent to honor this commitment made at the time of sale. Is there any way you could help?

My husband and I purchased a timeshare at Villa del Arco in August. We were told that we had to waive the 5 day cooling period or we would forfeit our $5000 down payment, that the group would rent our timeshares for a profit for us if we could not use them, that this was an investment, and that we were trading in our currently owned timeshare as a credit to purchase this one. Now that I have done research on Mexican law, I realize that we were egregiously deceived.

VILLA DEL PALMAR SOLD ME A TIMESHARE WITH HIG PRESSURED SALESMEN AND I WAS ALL ALONE IN MEXICO AND I TRIED TO CANCEL THE AGREEMENT THE NEXT DAY BUT WAS PRESSURED INTO SIGNING A DIFFERENT CONTRACT I COULD NOT GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS. CAN YOU HELP ME, I JUST WANT OUT OF THIS CONTRACT AND NOT RUIN MY CREDIT. THE MONEY TO PAY THE MAINTENCE FEES IS VERY DIFFICULT

I was tricked by Gareth at the Villa Del Mar Resort in Puerto Vallarta into buying the property. He promised to sell our existing time share for $35,000 guaranteed in 8 months and that turned out to be false. He said that he works for Continental - Connections and continental Connection actually says he works for you. He told us that it is two set of paper works which cannot be mixed and hence on one please sign that we are not accepting a sale of the existing time share. He said another reason this could not be combined was that the company was a not for profit company. Then he asked me to come the next day for the other paper work but never gave it and said it will be mailed.

He also guaranteed $2000 in rental income When we got back all we got a letter from Continental asking for $650 to list the property. I never realized that a company which claims to be Not for Profit and claims to do charity work.

We just bought a timeshare from Vila Del Palmar Flamingos last week. We paid down payment of 8250 US dollars and  sign promissory note payments 13 payments of 585 Dollars with maintenance annual fee of 616 Dollars. The guy who sold us timeshare told us that he is going to sell our old timeshare from Paradise Village in 180 days and he gave us equty exchange form from Hollyday resale broker. When I checked on line, it turned out to be an old trick, he just lied to us that he is going to sell our old timeshare so we will buy second timeshare.
