We are one of those couples who bought at Velas Vallarta after they said they would rent 15 of our 25 weeks back, which of course they didn't. We have contacted sierracorporatesales and said we need to pay a fee for this to happen. I do not believe it will happen regardless of our fee paymento to sierra. What do you know about them?

I got scammed by the Velas Vallarta twice!. My weeks weren't renting from the initial purchase so I went back in March 2009 with the intention of selling it back to them but they said it would be easier to rent the weeks or sell my unit if I upgraded. So I did. Yeh right. I just don't understand why the Mexican government continue to allow these people to rip off Americans and Canadians. I've contacted my Senator and wrote a letter to President Obams asking for help from my government in getting my money back. ALL OF IT! I also sent a copy of it to President Felipe Calderon to see if he cares enough about the ripping of of tourist in his country. So I've started two blogs devoted to the cause:

Feel free to check them out and post to them. I included my letter to Obama and Calderon.

I was scammed into buying a timeshare at Velas Vallarta in July 2007 under the promise that they would rent back all my weeks at4 weeks per year through "Dreams RSI". I told them from the outset that I didn't want to buy another timeshare (I have one already!!). I went back twice in two days after signing the contract and was told I couldn't cancel because it was a "re-sale". I'm sure you've heard this story countless times. Since then, I have paid in full, unfortunately. I also paid Dreams around $1000 for the rental contract including an "upgrade" to rent 12 weeks per year and priority listing with no commission, and in a year they've rented nothing for me and make one excuse after another. I think they're part of the scam. Now I'm getting an offer from "Sierra Rentals and Resales" in Mexico City to buy my timeshare from me for near purchase price, but I have to pay an upfront "escrow" fee of $2,800 to ensure that I will sell. The escrow company is supposedly "Gibraltar Escroa" in Mexico City, though I can find nothing about them. I have not done this yet because I believe it is also a scam. Does anybody know anything about Sierra? Gibraltar Escrow? Is there anything I can do to recover my investment in this scam? What's being done to STOP THESE CRIMINALS from perpetuating this total scam on unsuspecting vacationers???? Why is nobody warning people about this?? These people should be shut down and prosecuted!!

In February I paid $4999 for a Holiday Systems International program through Velas Vallartas. This program is not what was represented, and I wish to get a refund. Customer service rep, Monica Dallegrave, claims that I got what it is in the contract, but, What about all the verbal lies and misrepresentations in the sales presentation? Am I doomed because I believe their salesman´s word? I will fight until I receive what was taken from me.

WE PURCHASED A TIMESHARE AT VELAS VALLARTA IN PUERTO VALLARTA IN DECEMBER, 2009. THE RESORT IS A WONDERFUL PLACE, BUT THE RESORT SALES PEOPLE AND RELATED COMPANIES (HOLIDAY TRANSFER SERVICES & SIERRA CLUB RENTALS) HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT TO WORK WITH AND HAVE BEEN VERY SLICK AND DECEITFUL. WE FEEL THAT BUYING THIS TIMESHARE WAS A BIG MISTAKE AND WE WANT TO TERMINATE THE WHOLE THING, BUT WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT. CAN THE RESORT AFFECT MY CREDIT SCORE IF I STOP PAYING?

I've been a victim of velas vallarta 3 years ago, as your other clients. I have never used my time share, they promised to sell my weeks as I knew I wouldn't have time to use all of them, they have never sold my weeks, I was also told I could surrender my week, but my maint fee is due right now but they will not let me surrender since I am past due. I have taken out a loan to pay them, so I have a loan with my bank, and the credit card they opened for me with the down payment and the fee to sell my weeks which they have never done. So they got their money except for the maint fees. I was told they would sell my weeks I don't use and never made any attempt to. They also told me it was pre-owned and I couldn't back out of my contract when I asked to a week after I bought it, as I was weary back then, I've been paying what I can but I'm falling into debt and still have the loan and the credit card and their maint fees, for a timeshare I don't have time or money to use! I look forward to your help.

Purchased time share in 1995 from Velas Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta. Had same expieriences that many of your other clients have had with false promises and that they were building in Cabo San Lucas in 1995 which was untrue along with other untruths. My question is would you be able to help us cancel the maintenance fees and recover any of our original cost of over $9000.

I need to complaint against PROMOTORA TURISTICA LAS VELAS, SA DE CV and their timeshare sales representatives for misrepresentattion of their sales presentation by giving false information to us in order to get us to purchase a timeshare and signing an agreement under false pretenses.
The sales representative tahta wee had at this establishment was Doug Lockett.
My wife and I spent a week in Püerto Vallarta, Mexico at the Velas Vallarta Resort. We were approached to attend a timeshare presentation in which Doug Lockett was our sale representative. As the presentation went on we mentioned that we owned two other timeshare resorts in the US but that we didn’t care to pay for the condo fees every year. Doug´s anwer to us was that we would never have to pay any condo fees ever again by purchasing at Velas Vallarta. We thought that this was great. Doug also stated that by purchasing at Velas Vallarta we could rent our weeks out and recover our costs back by receiving $1,000 dollars for every week that they rented. We would receive $4,000 dollars after the first six months, another $4,000 dollars at the end of one year and then $8,000at the end of the second year and then we could rent the final weeks at the end of the two years. This sounded great.
Doug also stated that we would get 50 weeks from Holiday International Systems for allowing them to rent out our weeks and that we could use them anytime we wanted to. Doug also stated to my wife and I that there were only four rooom prices that we would ever have to pay whenever we used these 50 weeks anywhere in the world. He said that if we wanted to stay in a studio then it would on ly cost us $199 for the week and as Doug stated the if we wanted to stay in the Presidential Suite thet it would only cost us $750 per week. Doug also stated that twe would never have any condo fees, gifting fees or transfer fees ever again. We were elated and decided to trade our two timeshares that we owned in to own at this beautiful place. What a big mistake. Doug also stated that by the end of the 25 year period that we would redeive back all the monies that we had invested in this timeshere property because they were using our money to make money. These were all deceptive moves to get us to buy the timeshare. We put $7000 down payment on a credit card. Then after getting back home and getting all the paperwork in order to transfer the timeshare that we owned, I proceed to pay the remaining $15000 by check.
My wife and I were very distraubht over this whole situation. We are afraid that we wont be able to take any more vacation in the near future unless we recoup these losses. We´ve put all this money into this and now we cant enjoy our vacations because it is going to cost us so much more to take a vacation.

We purchased a fractional timeshre time Velas Vallarta on Oct 2009 and found you via people\'s complaint online. They claim to purchase our time share for $41,000 and return it back to us with their claim of lost of tax. Becasue of that they calim we lost the right of canceling and made us sign the form that we cant cancel within 5 days or have to pay 30% of the price ($58,000 for 12 week one bed room condo). We are coming back on Monday to ask for cancelation and ask for all our deposit back.

Bought TS at Vellas Vallarta from Johhny Noe in 2006 in Puerta Vallarta.
Never went back. Called to check on maintenance fee & was informed we were not allowed to exchange as they promised for airline tickets &/or for cash. The reason we purchased in the first place but only informed months after purchase when back in KY. Also promised to sell our RCI TS & charged us $600.00 but never sold it either. Still paying fees & want to sell & get out.Donald
We were on vacation in Puerto Vallarta and were solicited to listen to a time share presentation at Velas Vallarta Fractional Ownerships. We were told we were purchasing 25 weeks for 25 years of ownership.
That we could rent out up to 6 weeks per year, starting as soon as we got home; to call \"Dreams RSI\", a rental & resale company they had a 4 year contract with. We were to deposit 18 weeks for rental of our 1 BR Villa Plus and by March, we would see a check $14,328 because they already have rooms booked up and they would rent right away, so $2,388 per week rented. Then, the following year they would rent another 6 weeks, and by the end of that year, we would get another $14,328. I called Dreams today and they told me either there would be a 5% commission per week, or we could pay $899 + tax for the Platinum program and avoid the 5% but have priority rental. I told him we were never told about a 5% commission or the $899 fee among other things. He said he would speak to a supervisor and see what he could do. I never heard a click that he put me on hold, but about 30 sec. later he started talking again and said he could offer me $599 + tax. Right then I started to have doubts, so I looked up the web site on the Dreams business card and saw sites for complaints, which brought me to the Complaints of Velas Vallarta Scams and read all the reports. Please help us get out of this contract! It is approx. one month old.

We purchased a timeshare contract at vela vallarta, after a few days we reviewed the contract and found discrepancies between what the sales person told us and what we can find in the contract. While still in Mexico we attempted to cancel the contract in person just 3 days after the purchase.
The sales team wouldn\'t allow us to see the person to help us. On the fourth day after our purchase from home we faxed and e-mailed the cancellation. At this point I am not sure what else I can do to annul the
contract.

On August 9th, 2009, I signed a contract to purchase a timeshare at Velas Vallarta. I gave them a downpayment of $6,730. On August 11th, I returned and cancelled the contract. I have a cancellation form signed by Monica Rivera. My money was to be returned within 15 days. I contacted Roberto Garcia, at Velas Vallarta, yesterday, August 31st. He was to check with accounting and call me back either yesterday or today. I called back today, and was shuffled from one person to another, each claiming to be unable to help me. Roberto wss unavailable. Can your assist me in this matter?
